Finished the Whole 30 – 30 Days, 20 Pounds and 9 Inches

 The

I can’t believe we did it! We made it through the first month of this Crazy Idea, our family just finished the Whole 30, and I survived my first month at Ed’s Gym. I actually did more than survive and am starting to see some results. Last night Ed took my measurements again and this morning I got on the scales to see how much weight I had lost.  Day one I weighed in at 263.8. This morning 243.6. For a total of 20.2 pounds. Needless to say I was pretty excited.  Here are the before and after measurements:

Waist at umbilicus: Before-48.75, After 46.5, Difference-2.25 inches

Hips: Before- 42.5, After 41.5, Difference- 1 inch

Chest: Before-47, After 45.75, Difference- 1.25 inches

Around Shoulders: Before-54, After-51, Difference- 3 inches

Bicep: Before-15, After-14, Difference- 1 inch

Neck: Before- 17.75, After- 16.75, Difference- 1 inch

For a grand total of 9.5 inches (10 if you round up and that would have looked much better in the title)

So I’m pretty happy with the results of the first month. The rest of this post comes with a warning for those who haven’t eaten yet, or will be eating shortly. Proceed with caution. I’ve included some before and after pics and I don’t have a shirt on. So if you want to continue, get out your sunglasses as my tan-less, flabby body may cause irreparable eye and psychological damage.

Well, 30 days down and still a long way to go, but I’m off to a good start thanks to Ed. If you live here in Colorado Springs and want to join me at Ed’s Gym, visit his site and give him a call.  I’d love to have you come along for this journey. If you’re out of town, Ed has some distance training as well, so check out the site.

And for those of you who have fallen off the horse with your health and fitness plans, it’s time to get back on. You can do this! I know, because I’m doing it.

We’ll be posting again shortly with some of the other benefits our family has seen from the Whole 30, but I wanted to give youa quick update on the Crazy Idea this morning as we wrap up our first month.

Congratulations! Those are some really impressive results. The increased muscle tone is definitely noticeable. I’m not calling mine over until tomorrow so I don’t know how I did weight-wise, but I’ve definitely seen benefits at the gym and in general overall feeling good. And I’ve learned a ton about food choices I will continue when this is over. Looking forward to reading about some of the other benefits you and your family have seen. Keep up the great work.
