I really can’t believe it has been six months since we started this crazy idea. Some days it feels like it was just last week and some days it seems like it was so long ago. I know I’ve said it before, but I’m feeling better than I have in years. I can’t believe the difference in my energy level and how my body has changed (photos below). I’m still working out 4 days a week at Ed’s Gym – though some weeks it has only been 2 days due to travel and conferences and such.
As for our diet, we’ve stayed pretty much with a Paleo style diet – though we have added in a few cheats such as an occasional Nutella snack or corn based product. We are still eating insane amounts of fruits and eggs and after six months show no signs of getting tired of those.
As for my weight loss, I’ve hit a bit of a plateau as I mentioned in previous posts. I’ve lost a total of 45 pounds, but the last 5 have been slow. Part of that is because of the changes in my workouts (see my post on hitting the weights) and I’m sure some of the slow down has been because we have been a little more lax in the diet area. So, we’ve decided to do another Whole 30 starting August 6, the day after we get back from a little Anniversary trip. If you’re interested, we’d love to tell you more about it. You can read these posts (start at the bottom to see them in order) or just leave a comment below. We’d also love to have you join us on this Whole 30, so if it’s something you’ve been thinking about, or you’re just hearing about it for the first time, let’s do it together.
Well, here are the pictures Ed took at the gym on day 1 and again last week on July 13. I honestly can’t believe the difference and hope that it inspires you to do what it takes to get in shape. While you’re here check out Ed’s post about my progress over on his blog too.
What has been your biggest challenge with getting in shape?
